Life Legacy
SHERBURN: A Memorial Visitation will be held at the Kramer Family Funeral Home in Sherburn, Minnesota from 5:00 P.M. till 7:00 P.M. Thursday January 28, 2010.
Betty died on Friday evening, January 22, 2010 at Temperance Lake Ridge Assisted Living in Sherburn, Minnesota. Messages of Sympathy may be sent to the family online at www.kramerfuneralhome.com
Elizabeth Ann Schroedel was born April 21, 1925 to John and Ethel (Graves) Schroedel in Sherburn, Minnesota. She attended and later was a 1943 graduate of Sherburn High School. She later attended and graduated from the University of Minnesota Department of Nursing. On November 11, 1945, Betty was united in marriage to Harry “Bud” Munson at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dunnell, Minnesota. After their marriage, they lived in California until Harry was discharge from the service and returned home to the farm in 1947. Harry died on July 29, 2007. Betty then became a resident of Temperance Lake Ridge Assisted Living in 2007, where she enjoyed the rest of her life playing cards, bingo and Mah Jongg. Betty was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn. Betty was always involved with children and the elderly. She was a hospice volunteer for many years. Betty and Bud built a Frank Lloyd Wright style home on the farm with a wing designed for private duty health care. She traveled the world and did two very special missions to Haiti and Jamaica. She was consel to many of us usually around the kitchen table.
Survivors include her three children, Farrish and Mark Sharon of Tucson, Arizona, Carl “Chip” and Linda Munson of rural Sherburn, Minnesota and Heidi and Brian “Homer” Scott of rural Dunnell, Minnesota; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Thelma Schenck of Sherburn, Minnesota; brother, H.L. “Lou” and Hazel Schroedel of DesMoines, Iowa; sister-in-law, Rosalie Schroedel of Texas; nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her, husband, Harry “Bud” Munson; twin granddaughters; one great granddaughter; one great grandson; sister, Marian Amundson; brother, John Schroedel and other relatives.
