Harold H. Sheppard

TRIMONT: A Celebration of Life Service for Harold "Sonny" H. Sheppard, 82 of rural Trimont will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Trimont with Rev. Roger L. Mackie officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park in Fairmont, Minnesota.

Harold died on Tuesday evening, March 9, 2010 at Fairmont Medical Center in Fairmont, Minnesota. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Kramer Family Funeral Home in Trimont and one hour prior to the services at the Church on Saturday. Harold Harry Sheppard was born on April 23, 1927 to Luther and Anna (Groth) Sheppard on a farm in Martin County, rural Trimont, Minnesota. He attended country school District 3 in Waverly Township and was a 1945 Graduate of Triumph-Monterey High School. Harold farmed with his family in Waverly Township. On August 26, 1951, he was united in marriage to Sylvia May Brinkman at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn, Minnesota. After their marriage they farmed in Waverly Township. In 2007, Harold became a resident of Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he served at one time as secretary and Sunday School Superintendent. Harold enjoyed playing cards, bowling, fishing, golfing and going to the casinos.


Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Sheppard of rural Trimont, Minnesota; two sons, Steven Sheppard of rural Trimont and Douglas (Anne) Sheppard of rural Sherburn; daughter, Kelli Robert) Bush of Windom; four grandchildren, Jamie (Robb) Larson, Kyle (Misty) Sheppard, Ashley Crystal and Taylor Jorgenson; three great-grandchildren, Eric Sheppard, Lucas and Bailey Larson; three step-great-grandchildren, Connor, Collin and Camryn McNicol; three sisters, Arlene (Gary) Newman of Bricelyn, Minnesota, Joyce (Dale) Swanson of Fairmont and Diane (Tom) Lentz of Chanhassen; sisters-in-law, Arlene George of Sherburn, and Fern (Marvin) Wendland of Springfield, Minnesota; brothers-in-law, Sylvan Brinkman of Jackson, Minnesota, Merle (Bev) Brinkman of Fairmont and Duane (Donna) Brinkman of Hutchinson, Minnesota; nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Glen Sheppard; sister, Marilyn Sheppard; brothers-in-law, Leland George and Marvin Brinkman; sisters-in-law, Alta Brinkman and Delores Brinkman and other relatives.
