Marie Loraine Dorothy Harries was born January 9, 1923 to Herman and Anna (Meyer) Harries on a farm in Enterprise Township, Jackson, Minnesota. Marie was baptized with water and the Word on February 11, 1923 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Alpha. She renewed her baptismal vows in her confirmation on June 1, 1936 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Alpha. Marie received her schooling in rural country school Dist. 20 Enterprise Township. On June 30, 1940, Marie was united in marriage to Raymond Dunker at Harmony, Minnesota. After their marriage they lived in Enterprise Township until 1941, when they moved to their present farm in Kimball Township. Marie was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kimball Township where she was in the Ladies Aid. Marie greatly enjoyed spending time with her family. Along with Ray they had a big garden and enjoyed going to the farmers market to sell their goods. She also made many special jams for her family to enjoy.

Marie died on Saturday afternoon, February 5, 2005 at her home in rural Mountain Lake, Minnesota at the age of eighty-two years.

Her husband, Raymond Dunker of rural Mountain Lake, Minnesota; six children, Gary Dunker and his wife, Florence, of rural Mt. Lake, Minnesota, Gayle Dunker and his wife Barbara, of Aiken, South Carolina, Gayleen Woizeschke and her husband, Ed, of Windom, Minnesota, Myrna Braun and her husband, Lynn, of North Mankato, Minnesota, Kent Dunker and his wife, Linda, of Mt. Lake, Minnesota and Donald Dunker and his wife, Chrystal, of Mt. Lake, Minnesota; fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; sister, Mabel Bernhardt of Jackson, Minnesota; brother, Chester Harries and his wife Sophia, of rural Jackson, Minnesota; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, LaRaye and Lora Lee Dunker, daughter-in-law, Sandra Dunker; son-in-law, Jerry Gieser; three brothers, Raymond, Dick and Harold Harries; sister, Margaret Hindall; brother-in-law, Henry Bernhardt and other relatives and friends.
