TRIMONT: A Celebration of Life Service for Lester H. Forstrom, 85, of rural Trimont, Minnesota will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Trimont, Minnesota with Rev. Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in rural Trimont, Minnesota with full military honors by Foster-Bernhardt American Legion Post #373 of Trimont, Minnesota and Sherburn Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #8261 of Sherburn, Minnesota.

Lester was called to his eternal rest on Saturday evening, January 19, 2013 at the Trimont Health Care Center in Trimont, Minnesota. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Kramer Family Funeral Home in Trimont and one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday. Lester H. Forstrom, the son of Peter and Susanna (Jorgenson) Forstrom was born at the home where he resided most of his life, on May 6, 1927 in Cedar Township rural Trimont, Minnesota. Les attended country school in District #55 in Cedar Township and then he went to Trimont Public School until the eleventh grade, then he enlisted into the United States Navy. On September 22, 1951 he was united in marriage to Rosemarie Fahey in Mankato, Minnesota. After their marriage, Lester was employed as a mechanic at Douglas Aircraft in California and then in Minneapolis. They moved to the family farm in rural Trimont in 1959 and raised milk cows and sheep. Lester and Rosie were blessed with six children. Les was employed at Sherr-Tumico in St. James, as a tool and die maker, for over twenty-five years. After their retirement they traveled to California to see family there. Les was a member of Evangelical Covenant Church and volunteered at their Church camps and volunteering at their church cemetery. He was a member of the Foster-Bernhardt American Legion Post #373 of Tirmont and the Sherburn V.F.W. Post #8261 of Sherburn. Family vacations to the Black Hills were very important to him. Les enjoyed reading, especially the Bible and his daily devotions going hunting and fishing and being outdoors. You could find him out at his farm tinkering on things. He will be noted for his humor and witt.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Rosemarie Forstrom of rural Trimont, Minnesota; his six children, Tom (Carla) Forstrom of Howard Lake, Minnesota, Beverly Forstrom of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Bruce (Kathy) Forstrom of Crystal, Minnesota, Keith (Kathy) Forstrom of rural Trimont, Minnesota, Sue (Ron) Reicherts of Trimont, Minnesota and John (Kelli) Forstrom of rural Trimont, Minnesota; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; half brother, Bob Adamson of Oregon and other relatives.

Lester was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Ruth; many half sisters and half brothers, including Paul “Slim” Adamson.
